I like to be and thrive on the water, sailing. Elegantly making use of the renewable wind to explore the world has a beauty and timelessness to it. Elegant, for the viewer on shore, because on the water, the going can get pretty rough. On the water, you are left to yourself and your crew, with limited resources in reach. That is another reason sailing suits me. I can be resourceful and can keep spirits high.
Sailing is a good way to get away, both physically and in your mind. It fits to my motto: breaks are at the basis of progress. Which sounds paradoxical, but is true, and people tend to forget. What I learn sailing and learn in a laboratory can be used interchangeably. On the water, being resourceful to explore the world. In science and astronomy, being resourceful to discover another world.
